‘양평 집단 개 학살 사건의 학살자. 1500여명 (경찰 추산 1256명) 의 개들을 차례로 굶겨 죽인 학대자에게 법이 심판을 내리는 1심 선고 공판이 5월 11일 수원지방법원 여주지원에서 열립니다.

세기의 동물학대자에게 과연 어떤 판결이 내려질까요?
법원 1차 공판 이후 급하게 모인 탄원서만 무려 3천 장, 또 경찰 단계에서 제출한 탄원서명은 1만장 이상입니다. 언론 또한 충격적이라며 연일 보도했습니다. 이 사건을 바라보는 우리 사회가 얼마나 분노하는지는 충분히 법원이 인지하고 있다고 판단합니다. 담당검사는 참고인 진술 차 케어와 대면한 자리에서 법정 최고형을 구형해 달라는 케어의 요청을 매우 진지하게 들었고 결국 3년 징역형을 구형했습니다. 박종현 판사님은 이 사건에 어떤 판결을 내릴까요?

마지막까지 보여줍시다. 굶주려 죽어가는 몸으로도 마지막으로 힘을 내어 철장을 물어 뜯어보고자 입으로 앙다문 채 죽은 푸들의 얼굴을 기억해 주십시오. 소리 없이 죽어간 이들을 대신해 이날만큼은 모여 주십시오. 소리 높이 외쳐 주십시오. 케어는 신청자들을 받아 버스를 대절하여 법원 앞으로 갈 예정입니다.

5월 11일 오전 6:30분 선유도역 인근, 케어 사무실 앞 버스 출발 ( 영등포구 양평로 22길 31 1층) -> 여주지원 도착 8:30분 -> 9:40분까지 피켓팅 및 기자회견 -> 10시 선고 (본관 201호) 

In the wake of a heinous act that has befallen over 1,500 innocent dogs (police estimate 1,256), the time has come for justice to take its stand against the perpetrator of the Yangpyeong dog massacre. On May 11th, within the solemn walls of the Yeoju Branch of the Suwon District Court, a verdict shall be rendered for the unprecedented animal abuser.

Following the initial court hearing, an influx of over 3,000 petitions has emerged. During the police investigation, more than 10,000 signatures from distressed citizens were gathered. The media has consistently reported on this horrifying event. We remain confident that the court is cognizant of our society’s outrage. The prosecution carefully considered our plea when CARE, as a witness, visited the prosecutor's office and urged for the maximum 3-year sentence due to the case's extreme cruelty. All eyes now turn to Judge Park Jong-hyun's impending verdict.

Let us bear in our hearts the heart-wrenching image of the brown poodle that gnawed at the cage, in a futile attempt to evade its dreadful fate; the poodle that fought until her last breath, only to succumb to starvation and ultimately be consumed by other dogs. In remembrance of those who perished in unspeakable and unseen torment, we humbly request your presence on this significant day. Stand alongside us and raise your voice in unison.
