천안 30년 넘은 도살장 철폐 > watchdog

와치독은 <감시자> 라는 뜻을 가진 영어 단어입니다.

와치독이 오랜시간 감시하던 잔인한 개도살장이 드디어 30년이상의 흑역사를 끝으로 폭파되었습니다.

와치독은 6월 10일 토요일, 오전 8시, 천안의 30년 넘은 도살장을 급습했습니다.
이 도살장은 목을 매다는 방식으로 도살을 해오던 곳으로 많을 때는 200명, 적을 때는 60명의 개들을 계류장에 가두고, 번식을 하거나 가정집에서 파양하는 개들을 받아 도살을 해 왔습니다. 뿐만 아니라 도축허가 없이 염소들을 밀도살하여 중탕기로 내리고 즙을 내어 판매해 오던 곳입니다.

가축분뇨, 오폐수, 불법 건축, 폐기물 불법 활용, 잔인한 도살 등 총체적인 법률 위반이 발견되었습니다.

매우 오랫동안 조사를 하며 도살증거를 확보한 와치독은 오늘, 개들 68명의 소유권을 포기받아 천안시청으로 인계하였고 41명의 염소들을 모두 격리조치하였습니다.

어제 오전 케어 인스타 라이브 영상을 보시면 개농장의 전체적인 환경과 개들, 염소들을 보실 수 있고 개들을 포기받는 과정등을 보실 수 있습니다.

와치독은 하루 종일 도살장에 남아 개와 염소들에게 사료와 물을 공급하고, 조금이나마 환경을 개선해주었습니다. 내일까지 와치독이 현장의 개들을 관리하고 월요일부터는 천안시에서 관리가 들어가게 될 것입니다.

이번 도살장 폐쇄는 와치독 6기 단원과 곧 정식 교육을 받게 될 7기 예비단원들의 뛰어난 활약으로 영구히 폐쇄되게 되었습니다.

Watchdog has successfully shut down a dog slaughterhouse in Cheonan, which had been operating inhumanely for over 30 years.

On Saturday, June 10th, Watchdog conducted a raid at 8 am on this slaughterhouse, which they had been closely monitoring for an extended period. This facility, infamous for its brutal method of hanging animals, has been irrevocably closed. The slaughterhouse, in the past, took in dogs from breeding facilities and private homes, while also conducting secret slaughters of goats without a license, for the extraction and sale of their byproducts.

After an extensive investigation, Watchdog amassed compelling evidence of the atrocities taking place at the facility. Consequently, Watchdog was able to secure the surrender of 68 dogs, which were handed over to Cheonan City Hall. Furthermore, they ensured the removal of 41 goats from the premises.

A live video stream was aired on the CARE Instagram, exposing the conditions of the slaughterhouse and the state in which the animals were kept, as well as the process of their liberation by Watchdog.

Following the raid, Watchdog spent the day on-site ensuring that the dogs were provided with fresh food and water. Starting Monday, these animals will transition into the care of the Cheonan City authorities.
