항소심 재판에 몰려 갑시다!  -양평집단 개 학살 사건 진행 상황-

 

양평 집단 개 학살 사건의 피고 이모씨에 대해 항소심이 열립니다.

이모씨는 사건이 알려진 직후 즉각 구속되어 수사받다 기소되었고 검사가 3년을 구형하고 1심 판사 또한 검사의 구형을 그대로 받아들여 3년 징역형이라는 대한민국 최초로 최고형을 선고받고 수감되었습니다.

그러나 이씨는 이에 불복하고 항소하였고, 항소심 1차 공판 일정은 7월 7일/ 수원지방법원 601호에서 열립니다. 많은 분들의 방청을 바랍니다. 케어는 이 사건을 시작한 만큼 2심 끝까지 이씨의 항소가 기각되어 원심 형 3년형이 그대로 유지되도록 최선을 다할 것입니다.

케어는 오늘, 이모씨 외에 개들을 죽이도록 보낸 공동정범 32명의 송치 건과 관련, 수원지방검찰청 여주지원 임주연 검사님실에 해당 사건 피의자들이 엄중한수사를 받고 기소되도록 3438인의 탄원서명을 제출하였습니다.

We’re sharing an update on the Yangpyeong dog massacre case.

The defendant, Mr. Lee, will soon appear before the appellate court. Upon discovery of the incident, he was swiftly arrested and charged. Given the case's gravity, the prosecutor requested a three-year prison term, and in an unprecedented decision under South Korea's Animal Protection Law., the judge agreed to this maximum sentence. Mr. Lee is currently serving his sentence.

Mr. Lee, however, has contested the verdict and filed an appeal. The inaugural hearing of this appeal is slated for July 7th in Room 601 at the Suwon District Court. We vigorously urge public attendance at this hearing. CARE is unwavering in its commitment to ensure the appeal is denied, upholding the initial three-year sentence.

In its latest move, CARE has submitted a petition, supported by 3,438 signatures, to Prosecutor Im Ju-yeon of the Yeoju Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office. The petition calls for a thorough investigation and prosecution of the 32 breeders involved in the case.
